Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 Vintage

Red : VERY GOOD

White : GOOD

A very hot year - similar to 2003, with high alcohol levels and lower acidity (alcohol levels of over 14.5% in many of the Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards). Wines are heavier and denser than usual for Cote de Nuits and will generally be earlier drinking due to the lack of acidity.
Very high yields means there is likely considerable declassification (Premier Cru to Village, or Village to Bourgogne) so lower classifications could represent excellent value.
